When you find a place that really, sincerely cares about its staff members; does really important work that is for the benefit of others; pushes itself to always do better; and knows how to mix fun into the process too then you do anything you can to join, and everything you can to contribute and stay. New Jersey LCV is where I am grateful to be and where I intend to remain as long as I can.

New Jersey LCV/EF provides full-time employees with a robust benefits package which includes options for employer-assisted medical, dental and vision health insurance, as well as employer-paid life, long- and short-term disability and other policies. These benefits are complimented by a generous Paid Time Off plan and Holiday Closings schedule. Our commitment to work-life balance is inclusive of a hybrid work environment and Flex Fridays program.

Retirement 401(k) Savings Plan

Employees are eligible to enroll in a 401(k) plan; New Jersey LCV/EF provides a matching contribution, as well as an additional "pension" component for all full-time, eligible employees. 401(k) employer funds are fully vested upon issuance.

Flex Friday program

Staff have the opportunity to manage their work schedules Monday through Thursday so that they can take full-or half-days off on Fridays.

Hybrid Work Schedule

Our hybrid work schedule creates more work/life balance. We require at least two days in our office in Hamilton, NJ (or in the field) with the remaining days eligible for remote work, depending on job schedules and field requirements.

Holidays and Other Paid Time Off

Our very generous paid time off benefits include paid vacation, sick time, personal days, flexible holiday/volunteer days, and office closures for approximately eleven holidays each year. In addition, our office is closed between Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Reimbursement Allowance

We understand that remote working has its costs; staff can seek annual reimbursement for approved expenses that support their remote office configurations, up to a maximum limit per year.

* All benefits and programs are discretionary and can be changed any time, at the sole discetion of New Jersey LCV/EF, with or without notice.

Staff Appreciation Sip n' Paint Party

We are invested in nurturing a culture that recognizes and celebrates our individual contributions, as well as our efforts as a team of dedicated change-makers. We are focused on staff development, satisfaction, and empowerment. We work to create opportunities for staff to participate and engage in multiple and diverse experiences that allow for shared perspectives, learnings and support for each other. We respect what each person can contribute and consider staff capacity when determining what is possible.

Professional Growth

We value our staffs' growth by investing in opportunities for their professional development through focused training, cross-departmental projects, potential external programs and opportunities, and through internal community engagement activities.

Sunshine (Staff Events) Committee

The Sunshine Committee creates opportunities and events for staff to support and get to know each other, spend some causal time together, and have some fun. We also focus on celebrating successes so that every staff member feels like they belong and are valued.

Affinity Groups

We support our team members' shared diversities, and provide space for participation in affinity groups of their choosing [currently including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ groups].

Operations Committee

The Operations Committee is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to the leadership of New Jersey LCV about office needs of the staff, and evaluating the team’s overall satisfaction with our environment and the resources made available to them.

Staff Justice & Equity Committee

The Staff Justice and Equity Committee leads and supports our efforts to ensure that we actively bring an equity lens to all our initiatives, in both our internal and external  work. We educate ourselves and our colleagues, and strive to ensure that staff are able to incorporate new learnings into work plans for concrete action so that our DEIJ efforts continue to grow.

Joint Board/Staff Equity & Justice Committee

The Joint Board/Staff Equity & Justice Committee is made up of Board and staff members who are aligned to deepen and expand the Boards’ understanding of racial justice, equity, and environmental justice as they relate to our work plan and strategic goals, and organizes opportunities for education and engagement.

Team Justice & Equity Discussions

As an organization, we engage together in experiential learning programs and discussions on topics related to racial justice, gender justice, intersectionality, disability, and more. We also gather to recognize, honor and celebrate specific cultural heritage months. Through our three-step interview process, candidates are able to meet members of our staff from across all departments. Orientation

New staff are introduced to key aspects of our organization through a robust, week-long orientation program which includes one-on-one conversations with Leadership Team members, an introduction to the history and current work of the organization and our departments, and a review of our common agenda policies and strategic goals.
