New Jersey LCV Applauds Historic Settlement of Up to $450 Million with 3M for Statewide PFAS Contamination
New Jersey LCV Deputy Director, Allison McLeod, issued the following statement in response to the announcement today of the first-of-its-kind $450 million settlement with 3M—the largest PFAS settlement in New Jersey’s history.
“We commend Attorney General Platkin and DEP Commissioner LaTourette for their bold leadership in securing this historic $450 million settlement with 3M—the largest drinking water settlement in New Jersey’s history—to hold polluters accountable for knowingly contaminating our water, our natural resources, and our people with toxic forever chemicals,” said Allison McLeod, Deputy Director of New Jersey LCV. “New Jersey LCV was proud to help lead efforts to amend the state constitution to dedicate funds from settlements like these to restoring the communities and ecosystems harmed by toxic pollution. Today’s announcement marks a milestone in our fight for cleaner water, safer communities, and corporate accountability.
