New Jersey League of Conservation Voters (New Jersey LCV) serves as the leading political voice for the environment in New Jersey. The Digital Communications Coordinator leads our digital strategy to educate, engage, and mobilize members, supporters, partners, and decision-makers. This role manages the organization’s digital communications, including paid advertising, advocacy, fundraising, and growth efforts across platforms, and serves as a strategic partner across departments. Digital Communications Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Plan, write, design, and deploy compelling digital content including social media posts, email copy, videos, graphics, text messages, ad copy, and website content to educate, mobilize, grow and diversify current and new activists, email lists, and social media followers.
- Bring strategic thinking and innovative recommendations to strengthen the organization's digital platforms, tools, and communications strategies.
- Serve as an integral member of the Development and Communications team by participating in weekly team meetings and supporting department goals, priorities and initiatives.
- Write and execute fundraising appeals and campaigns across email, social media, text, and paid channels.
- Apply a racial justice lens to all online communications, emphasizing education and engagement on issues where communities of color and overburdened communities are disproportionately impacted.
- Partner with the Head of Strategic Messaging to develop compelling content and effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact.
- Track, analyze, and report on digital metrics tied to grants, campaigns, and organizational goals.
- Write and publish content for new and existing sections organization websites, with an eye to improvements.
- Assist with planning, development, and delivery of trainings for staff on digital best practices.
- Utilize and maintain the organization's CRM to support audience engagement, communications, and accurate constituent data management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to environmental conservation and New Jersey LCV’s mission.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter/X, and emerging channels.
- Experience with digital design, video creation and editing, and digital organizing best practices.
- Deep commitment to racial justice, equity, and inclusion, and to fostering an inclusive organizational culture.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines under pressure, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with experience across email, social media, fundraising, and advocacy content.
- Proficiency with tools such as EveryAction, Sprout Social, Canva, Excel, social media analytics, and social listening platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and provide strategic leadership.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Excellent presentation and training skills; experience training staff or partners preferred.
Position Requirements:
This is a full-time, hybrid position based remotely and in our office in Hamilton, New Jersey. This person must be able to maintain a flexible schedule as some sporadic evening and weekend work at events may also be required.
Salary Range: $42,500 - $50,000 depending upon experience and candidate qualifications, with a robust, comprehensive benefits package are offered. Ranges are based on an external and organizational wage analysis, noting that new staff rarely start at the top of a range.
This position is supported by grant funding, with the strong likelihood of continuation, dependent upon additional funding.
